'Seven Sisters' Oriental Parade, Wellington

from $90.00

The Seven Sisters are located at 188, 190, 192, 194, 196, 198 and 200 Oriental Parade.

The houses were built in 1906 by Joshua Charlesworth, a prominent Wellington architect. These houses are highly visible from Oriental Parade and add a great deal to the Oriental Parade streetscape. The varied designs of the homes  contribute significantly to the value and  character of Oriental Parade. They are an unusual example of a New Zealand interpretation of San Franciscan terrace housing.

Also included in the painting is the large Villa on the right. “I felt that the Villa was too lovely to be left out. The Mural of the ‘Seven Sisters’ being painted along its wall and garage was beautiful. I contacted the Mural Artists, Gabriel Heimler and Anna Proc and they very kindly gave me their permission to capture their mural/artwork in the painting.”

This Limited Edition Fine Art Print  has not in any way been altered from the original image and has been signed and numbered by the artist.

The original painting was completed on 350 gsm Watercolour paper using watercolour, ink and acrylics and has been sold.
